Career Pathways

Earn college credit while in high school!

Career Pathways is a program that offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credit by successfully completing career and technical courses (electives) while in ninth through 12th grades. In addition, the program affords graduates of any age from public technical institutions opportunities for college credits.

High school students who have completed three courses within the same Career Pathways track and have maintained a B average in those courses are considered program completers. Program completers have the opportunity to earn free college credits simply by showing competency in their completed Career Pathways track. Students who can successfully show competency will be awarded credit on their college transcript toward an Associate in Science degree, saving them money and time.

How to Apply

  • Complete three or more courses within the same Career Pathway track and maintain a 3.0 grade point average in those courses.
  • Show competency through industry certification or an articulation exam.
  • Graduate high school.
  • Complete a Credits Ticket.
  • Enroll at the College of Central Florida and declare the Associate in Science degree that aligns with your Career Pathways track in high school.
  • Coursework must have been completed within three years to be awarded Career Pathways credit.
